Srinagar: Gulmarg and Sonamarg

Winter sports like skiing, tobogganing, snowboarding and heli-skiing take place on the slopes of Mount Apharwat reachable by a Gondola lift. Another place is Sonmarg where the shiny Glacier is the main attraction along with adventure activities. Sonamarg, which means 'meadow of gold' has, as its backdrop, snowy mountains against a cerulean sky. Sonmarg is known for Kolhoi Glacier and Machoi Glacier.
Ladakh is the second largest district in India know with different names like 'land of lamas', 'land of high passes with high passes', 'Rider's' heaven'.
